AI for Industry (the “Canadian Industrial AI Consortia”, "Consortia", “CIAIC”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy and protects personal information in accordance with Canadian law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This policy explains what personal information we collect on aiforindustry.ca, why we collect it, how we use and disclose it, and how you can exercise your rights.

This policy covers personal information collected through our public website, membership and pilot intake forms, newsletter sign-ups, gated downloads, and public event registrations. It does not replace project- or member-specific agreements that govern pilot data, hosting, or technical work.

We collect only the personal information needed to operate the site and deliver services you request, including:

6. Third parties, processors, and international transfers
We rely on trusted third-party service providers (e.g., hosting, CRM, email, analytics, payment processors). We enter contractual agreements (Data Processing Agreements) with providers and require reasonable security safeguards. Some providers may process data outside Canada; where transfers occur, we implement contractual and technical protections (e.g., encryption). Members and applicants may request our current list of subprocessors at any time.
7. Security and retention
We protect personal information using administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described, to meet legal obligations, or to resolve disputes; then we securely delete or anonymize it.
8. Access, correction, complaints
You may request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you. To make a request or to raise a privacy concern, contact our Privacy Officer (details below). We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and follow applicable law. If unsatisfied, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
9. Breach notification
In the event of a confirmed privacy breach affecting personal information, we will notify affected individuals and the Privacy Officer promptly and take reasonable steps to contain and remediate the incident in accordance with legal requirements.
10. Children
Our site is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted with a revised effective date.
